THE PROBLEM

Mental healthcare is not easy to receive, and the stress and lifestyle of college-aged students only exacerbates the issue.

After researching barriers and benefits of mental health services to students, interviewing local therapists, and surveying UGA students, I found the three most common barriers to receiving care are: cost, embarrassment, and denial of a problem.

I created SPRING, an organization dedicated to serving as a one-stop shop for all mental health resources for students. Acting as a community garden for students, it provides information and access to those searching for help.

Showcased at the BFA Graphic Design Exit Show, I completed a full exhibition plan, as well as demonstrated my final deliverables of print versions of resource cards and mental health brochures.

THE PROCESS

After researching the initial issue, and the barriers and benefits that effect students, I interviewed local therapists. I also surveyed the student body, to gather more accurate responses from UGA students.

I discovered the main objectives I wanted to highlight

(1) Destigmatize

(2) Ease Accessibility

(3) Raise Awareness
