Positively POTS is a healthcare website that provides information about POTS* to people who believe they may have the disorder.

*Postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome is a disorder that affects one’s blood circulation and can cause rapid heart rate, dizziness, fainting, and fatigue.

After discussing the needs and values of Positively POTS, with the co-founder, I began working on preliminary drafts of the logo to be used on their website. They shared their idea of a colorful letterform logo that was distinguishable in the medical field, yet original.

I incorporated calming colors in a geometric way, as well as the “+” icon to represent the healthcare system.

3 million people have Postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome, Positively POTS needed organized guidelines for their brand to provide information to these people.

Positively POTS contains a lot of extremely helpful information, so their typefaces need to be simple, easy to read, and not take away from the overall message.

I wanted their branding to be straightforward, and identifiable as a medical organization without being sterile.
I incorporated rounded corners and transparent, overlapping colors to bring some dynamic elements into their designs.

With turquoise being the national awareness color for POTS, I chose to incorporate it in the Positively POTS color scheme. I also wanted to use tones of red, to represent the importance of blood circulation levels and heart health in diagnosing this disorder.

These are the final logos for Positively POTS. The “P” letterform is for use on their website, while the developed “POTS” letterforms can be used in presentations or larger scale
professional materials.
